WHALE WATCHING
From March to the end of May, Boa Vista is visited by
humpback whales off its coast!
Cape Verde is one of the most important breeding grounds for this species of whale, and in recent years they have been appearing in abundance, so the chance of seeing these largest living animals in the wild is very high during this period. We will reserve a place for you on one of the boats or catamarans with specialised marine biologists on board, who will take the utmost care and respect for nature.
In the past two years, whales were spotted on 95% of the excursions! So there is a good chance that you will see them too!
The whales regularly leap out of the water with almost their entire bodies, which of course makes a spectacular splash, but you will often see them waving one of their side fins or their immense tails!
We will accompany you throughout the trip and pick you up at your accommodation.
During the trip at sea, food and drinks are always available on board the vessels and everything is organised with the utmost care for nature and everyone’s safety by the most experienced skippers and crew members who will answer all your questions!
After the boat trip, we will be waiting for you in the harbour to take you back to your accommodation safely after this experience.
